After fifteen years of devoted service, Linda Mayer will be leaving her post as church secretary as she and her husband Wayne will be moving to North Carolina. We thank Linda and Wayne for their invaluable time and the many talents they have shared with us over the years. We will miss them dearly and wish them the best.
Any individual interested in a part-time secretarial (25 hours) position should complete an application at our church office no later than September 10, 2010.

The food pantry is in desperate need of toiletries.
If you could help with toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, etc., it would be very much appreciated.
Please don't let your giving to the church take the Summer off!
Even the most faithful of us may miss a few summer services and catch up later. Unfortunately, our expenses don't take a vacation. So if you can pay ahead or pay electronically, that would help a lot. Thank you.
There will be a bus tour of Habitat sites under construction on Saturday, September 4, beginning at 11:00am.
Please contact Alex if you wish to participate.
Update: The date for the Chicken Barbecue has been changed to September 18th (presold tickets will be honored). Tickets are available from Linda in the Church office.
This event is a major fundraiser for our Church and we really need your help and support. Please get your tickets as soon as you can.
We have changed the menu slightly and will provide two homemade cookies and an ice cream cup with dinner and sell pies and cakes seperately for additional revenue. If you can bake cookies for us, please do so. You can drop them off at the church anytime and we can put them in the freezer. If you will be baking a pie or cake, please let us know. If you will be making potato salad, please let us know. If you will be helping that day, please sign up or call the office and Linda will put you on the list. Lastly, if you have a larg tarp that we might borrow for the day to put up over the pit in case of rain, and you are willing to lend it to us for day, please let us know. Thank you.
Update: Construction is proceeding well on #4 and we will have an update on the start of #5. There are good opportunities for on-site groups and volunteers from our sponsoring churches.

My name is Susan Marino and I am the President of the Warwick Valley Chorale (WVC). On behalf of the Chorale, it is my pleasure to invite you to join us in singing for our upcoming Fall 2010 Season.
This year marks a very special occasion for the Warwick Valley Chorale as we are celebrating our 70th Anniversary! Our esteemed Director, Stanley Curtis, has chosen some wonderful selections for our Fall/Holiday concert program: "The Infant Jesus," a cantata by Dietrich Buxtehude; "Hodie," a cantata by John Leavitt; and of course, much-loved traditional and seasonal favorites.
Our first rehearsal of the Fall 2010 Season is on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:30pm. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday at the Warwick Reformed Church from 7:30-9:30pm. Some of you have sung with WVC before, some of you have been instrumentalists for WVC, and some of you have been wonderfully supportive audience members for our concerts through the years. Whichever category you fit in, we would love to have you join us in singing this year!! If you enjoy music and singing, and would like to make some new friends, please consider becoming a member of the Warwick Valley Chorale!
If you would like any further information about the Warwick Valley Chorale, please feel free to call me at 845-222-9809, or send me an email at singingsusy586@hotmail.com. You can also find out more about WVC on our website: www.warwickvalleychorale.org.

Creative Ministries for Today's Families - Active Parenting Program at Stony Point Center on October 3-5, 2010.
Many have found the Active Parenting program to be a good way to help parents in their ministries of family life and raising children. This program provides parents a perspective on the tasks that are a part of that endeavor, guidance on actions that are appropriate in general and particular circumstances of family life. The program honors their children and their own hopes for their children's lives. The "time out" for busy parents that the program provides gives specific help for the variety of demands and opportunities that parenting requires and invites. It is well worth the time you will invest in the program.
I have known Michael Popkin, Bruce and Carolyn Gillette for many years and enthusiastically recommend their workshop at Stony Point Center this October.
Stony Point Center is located at 17 Cricketown Road, Stony Point, NY 10980. Co-directors are Rick and Kitty Ufford-Chase
