Welcome back!! We’re gearing up for our 45th school year and excitement is in the air. The sparkling classrooms are all ready to go and the teachers can’t wait to meet their new students.
Open house for the parents will be on Tuesday evening, September 7th. On Wednesday, September 8th, the children and their parents will get to meet new friends and the teachers.
September promises to be a very busy month. The teachers will introduce themselves and talk about their families. They will ask the children to talk about their families. This helps everyone get to know each other. They will be making apple hats to wear on the class trips and also cooking and baking with apples.
All of our classes will be visiting “Mrs. Applewood” at Applewood Orchards in Warwick. After singing a song for her, everyone will get to ride in a wagon pulled by a tractor into the orchard to pick their own farm fresh apples. They will also get to see and pet the farm animals.
Class pictures will be taken during the last week in September. There will be group pictures as well as individual pictures taken outside.
We look forward happy, healthy and productive year.
Faithfully yours,
Barbara Laetzo
The philosophy of the Monroe Presbyterian Preschool is based on the needs of preschool children. Preschoolers are open, curious and eager. They are alive with a sense of wonder and have an inherent desire to learn. They need to experiment, to explore and to discover the world around them in order to start to understand their world. Their reality lies in what can be seen, heard, smelled, touched and tasted. For this reason our program is strongly rooted in their developmental growth process.
Our structured preschool curriculum readies your child for kindergarten through interpersonal relationships and personal development. We feel it is important for children to learn social skills such as, sharing, taking turns and relating to others in a group. They need to learn how to listen and to follow directions as they grow.
We will focus on helping your child develop self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-discipline, for only when a child feels good about himself can he learn about the world around him. We will stimulate curiosity and encourage questions and exploration, while helping to build the communication skills of listening and speaking.
We offer a variety of activities that will enhance the development of your child's small and large motor skills.
The Monroe Presbyterian Preschool offers a Christian Education program. The children meet once a week to learn about God and the wonderful world he has given us.
